Colour Affection Shawl

Colour Affection Shawl

color affection shawl

This is my second colour affection shawl that I have knit and I can see at least one more in my future, maybe out of cashmere? We shall see.

Here are some pattern details:

Pattern: Color Affection by Veera Välimäki

18 stitches and 36 rows = 4 inches in garter stitch
US 6 - 4.0 mm (US 2½ - 3.0 mm)
1155 - 1200 yards (1056 - 1097 m)
fingering version (lace version)
For my fingering version I used a US 7 needle to give the fabric a more drape, knowing that I would have more then enough yarn to allow for the different gauge. I used three skeins of out Comfort Sock base and the shawl is so soft and squishy. Click here for my project page.
The colourways that I used were: Fabulous (pink), Garden Party (white speckle), and Soot (the dark charcoal)
Comfort Sock
The project was great and I really enjoyed the relaxation of knitting all that garter stitch, mind you those rows near then end get super long. All in all it is a nice big cosy shawl and I look forward to wearing it this fall and winter.
At the moment this shawl is visiting the Yarnover Truck in California for a July Trunkshow. If you are able to make it out to see all our samples and yarn we would love to hear what you thought.
Happy Knitting all and talk again soon
