Festival Season Approaches!

Festival Season Approaches!

Hey guys,

I can't believe that I've been back from my trip for a week and a half now!  It feels like I haven't stopped moving since I came back.  Last weekend I was in Ottawa with Ashley for my nieces fourth birthday!  FOUR!  I don't know where the time went.  I can't believe how grown up she is! And what I can never get over is how beautiful she is.  Not just because she's a pretty kid, which, as you can see, she totally is, but she has such a beautiful little soul; she's warm and affectionate and rambunctious and so rarely sassy that when she gives you a little bit of it, it's absolutely hilarious.  Now I've sang previous odes to Paige and I know it sounds just like auntie bias but one day I hope you get a chance to meet her just so that you can corroborate my claim.  She had TWO Moana themed birthday parties and even though I thought I was pretty Moana'ed out from having watched it a dozen times myself, listening to her tiny voice sing the words to the songs is a new level charm that I didn't think existed.

I actually took a couple of extra days off this trip so that I could help Ashley with show prep.  We're kicking off show season this Saturday, April 28th, with the Toronto Knitters Frolic and we are super excited with just a little bit of nerves.  Less nerves than last year but this show has this amazing turbo like energy that absolutely requires that you KEEP UP, and there's always just a little bit of fear that something might go wrong.  I haven't actually experienced the dangers of getting between a yarnie and a wall of squishy goodness but most of the yarnies I know carry pointy needles so it's a danger that I would like to avoid.  Last year I showed up at Ashley's house, looked at her prep and told her we probably needed more yarn which meant a few nights of pretty frantic dyeing.  This year I showed up and a serene Ashley had mounds of yarn boxed and counted and told me there was just some light tagging to do.  I was pretty impressed and also totally useless.

This spring and summer are definitely going to keep us busy.  Here's a quick rundown of our itinerary:

Toronto Knitters' Frolic - April 28th, 2018
Prince Edward County Fibre Fest - May 26th, 2018
Toronto Knitters Guild Vendor Night - June 20th, 2018
Ashley's birthday - July 25th, 2018 - TIME TO PARTY!
Fibre Spirit Festival - August 25th, 2018
Almonte Fibre Festival - September 8th & 9th, 2018
Woodstock Fleece Festival - October 13th, 2018

(Braids for all of your big shawl, big sweater needs!)

I'm sooooo excited!  All of these shows are giving my knit mojo a much needed boost.  I feel like I've been lost without you guys for the last six months!  If you're in the Toronto area this weekend, please come check us out at Frolic.  Bring your RSBSY WIP's and FO's because we definitely want to see them!

That's all for me for this week!  Toronto, see you on Saturday!  The rest of you, we'll talk soon and we will bring you stories and tons of pictures!  Until then, PEACE to you and yours and happy knitting!!
