HAPPY HALLOWEEN

HAPPY HALLOWEEN

Hey guys, welcome back! Happy Halloween! I love this holiday but for all of the wrong reasons.  Mostly I want to see all of the kids in their costumes, eat way too much candy and then tomorrow DECORATE FOR CHRISTMAS! Ok, I'm not really going to decorate tomorrow but I will definitely be thinking actively about it until it's socially acceptable to decorate. This is probably not the time to admit that I've already started watching Hallmark's Countdown to Christmas either.

Do you remember when I said that I wasn't going to knit for Christmas?  Well that didn't last.  While I didn't originally intend it, Paige's Summer Cardigan is now going to be a Christmas present and since I can't show such blatant favouritism I'm now in the process of knitting a cardigan for Mila.  It really didn't help that my mom went to Fabricland to pick up some buttons for Paige's sweater and came home with $50.00 worth of buttons.  That's how I knew I was most definitely her kid.

I spent a little bit of time gauge swatching this weekend and even though my gauge  seems right, when I cast on, this little thing definitely seems on the small side.  I've decided to meditate on it for a little while I work on something else, namely, OUR MITTEN KAL! I hope you guys have your yarn and pattern all chosen!  I know I said that I was going to knit the Worlds Simplest Mittens but then I realised that my yarn would be perfect for Stephanie Lotven's Counterbalance mittens. I think the decision will be made by whatever size needle I find first.  In any case, I chose our Superwash Sport in our Sea Shell colour way, which is one of my favourite colours that we carry.  I'm not just biased because this is our yarn, I'm also biased because this is one of the few colours that I had some input in.

Just a heads up that today is the last day of our sale on both Superwash and MCN Sport AND, in celebration of the day, our Comfort Sock and Sock Kits are 20% off with coupon code SOCKBASH2018 until midnight tonight!

I'm still feeling pretty lonely on the Rav group, Mitten KAL thread.  I'm not going to lie, if I'm there by myself, I'm totally negotiating with Ash for the prize! It's pretty easy competition right now so if you enjoy really great prizes, head on over and join up.

That's it for me for this week!  Until we speak again, PEACE to you and your fam and happy knitting!
